Russia and India have prepared a number of documents aimed at developing cooperation in the nuclear energy sector.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev made the remarks.

He said Russia was ready to sign several documents with India.

According to the Rosatom chief, the agreements would focus primarily on Generation IV nuclear energy technologies, including fast neutron reactors.

Likhachev added that the two countries planned to expand cooperation in this area.

Generation IV nuclear technologies are being developed to improve reactor safety, fuel efficiency and the use of nuclear fuel resources. Fast neutron reactors are among the technologies under consideration for more efficient fuel utilization and the potential reduction of long-lived radioactive waste.
