Nine people, including four minors, have been evacuated from flooded residential areas in Baku's Binagadi and Surakhani districts following intense rainfall, officials said.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM that its "112" hotline received multiple calls regarding citizens trapped in their homes due to the flooding of private courtyards. In response to the emergency, rescue teams from the Ministry's Special Risky Rescue Service were immediately dispatched to the affected locations to provide assistance.

As a result of the rescue operations, nine residents who faced difficulties leaving their homes due to rising water levels were safely evacuated. In addition to the evacuations, emergency crews implemented various safety measures to mitigate the impact of the heavy rains and ensure the security of the local population in the capital.

Heavy seasonal rains in Azerbaijan often necessitate rapid response from emergency services, particularly in low-lying areas of the Absheron Peninsula. The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to monitor weather conditions across the country to prevent potential infrastructure damage and ensure public safety during extreme weather events.
