BDYPİ-dən hava xəbərdarlığı: Ehtiyatlı olun!

The Main State Traffic Police Department (BDYPİ) has issued a formal appeal to road users regarding expected unfavorable weather conditions across Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the official statement highlights a significant shift toward unstable weather starting February 10.

The BDYPİ urged drivers to exercise maximum caution, advising against parking vehicles near trees, billboards, or other objects prone to falling or sliding due to high winds. Specific preventive measures are recommended for operators of trailers, trucks with tents, and long-haul vehicles to mitigate the risk of accidents during gusty conditions.

With snowfall expected to create slippery road surfaces, motorists are requested to adhere to the following safety guidelines:

Drivers, particularly those traveling to mountainous regions, should avoid using vehicles not equipped with winter tires. It is essential to ensure the technical readiness of vehicles and to adjust driving speeds to suit current meteorological conditions.

Unfavorable weather is also expected to create challenges for pedestrian movement. The department called on pedestrians to be responsible and avoid behaviors that could endanger their lives or the safety of other road users.

In Azerbaijan, the Main State Traffic Police Department regularly monitors seasonal weather patterns to provide timely safety advisories. These measures are part of a broader effort to reduce traffic incidents and ensure the smooth flow of transport during the winter months when visibility and road traction are often compromised. The department emphasizes that maintaining vehicle safety standards is crucial for preventing road accidents during the transition to colder, more volatile weather conditions.
