Baş Prokurorluq: Əhməd Əhmədovun xəstəxanadan buraxılması barədə məlumatlar yalandır

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan has officially refuted reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged release of Ahmad Ahmadov from a medical facility. Ahmadov was detained for the intentional killing of five family members in the Khatai district of Baku in 2024.

According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the authorities strongly condemn and deny these fabricated claims, which are intended to create artificial agitation and mislead public opinion. The statement clarified that Ahmadov's stationary treatment continues under strict medical supervision at a specialized psychiatric hospital, and any reports of his release are described as "entirely baseless."

The criminal case, which caused significant public resonance in Azerbaijan, was thoroughly investigated by the prosecution authorities in coordination with other law enforcement agencies. Based on credible evidence collected during the preliminary investigation and examined during the court proceedings, it was proven that Ahmadov committed the particularly grave crimes in a state of insanity. Consequently, in accordance with the requirements of the law, the Baku Grave Crimes Court issued a decision on October 10, 2024, ordering him to undergo compulsory intensive psychiatric treatment rather than a standard prison sentence. The Prosecutor General's Office reminded the public that spreading false information that causes public alarm carries direct legal liability.
