The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a yellow weather warning for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula for June 12-13, as well as for several regions across Azerbaijan from June 12-16, due to anticipated strong winds.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the meteorological service reported that north-westerly winds are expected to intensify, reaching speeds between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.

The affected areas include Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, as well as Tovuz, Ganja, Mingachevir, Gazakh, Aghstafa, Gadabay, Goygol, Gakh, Balakan, Samukh, Sheki, Zagatala, Kalbajar, Lachin, Neftchala, Gobustan, Khizi, Gusar, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Dashkasan, Goranboy, Naftalan, and Shamkir. These conditions meet the criteria for a yellow weather warning, which signifies potentially dangerous weather that requires caution.

Yellow warnings are part of the standard meteorological alert system used in Azerbaijan to inform the public about weather conditions that may disrupt daily activities or pose minor risks to infrastructure. Citizens are advised to exercise caution during this period, particularly when outdoors or near structures susceptible to wind damage.
