In Baku, the operation of bus routes 161 and 162 has been temporarily transferred to new carriers. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports this, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

According to the official statement, these temporary measures were taken to ensure the continuity of passenger transport services following the decision by the previous operator, Azland Plaza LLC, to cease operations on both suburban routes.

Effective immediately, the operation of route 161 has been temporarily assigned to Chinar Trans LLC, while route 162 is now managed by Khaliq Faiqoglu LLC. Route 161 connects the Hovsan settlement to the Surakhani settlement, and route 162 operates between the Ramana residential complex and the Koroglu Transport Exchange Center.

The agency confirmed that these routes will be put up for a formal competitive tender in the near future to select permanent operators. This move is part of ongoing efforts by the Azerbaijani government to modernize public transportation in the capital and improve service quality for residents.
