The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a weather warning for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, forecasting intermittent rainfall beginning in the first half of June 7.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, meteorological data indicates that precipitation may intensify in certain areas of the peninsula, with a high probability of thunderstorms.
The current unstable weather pattern, characterized by precipitation, is expected to persist across the regions of Azerbaijan until June 9. Forecasters warn of heavy rainfall, lightning, and potential hail in various districts. In high-mountainous areas, there is a possibility that rain may transition into sleet.
Authorities have advised caution as the increased precipitation is expected to raise water levels in rivers. There is a specific risk of short-term flooding and mudflows in some mountain rivers, necessitating vigilance from local residents and relevant emergency services.
The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these atmospheric changes to provide timely updates to the public, ensuring safety during periods of adverse weather conditions in the country.
