The latest convoy of humanitarian aid dispatched from Azerbaijan to Iran has reached the Azerbaijan-Iran border, following a high-level directive to support the neighboring nation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the aid was organized based on recent telephone conversations between Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. The initiative aims to meet the current needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people through a comprehensive support package.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the humanitarian assistance consists of 200 tons of various goods, including food products, medicines, and medical supplies. Specifically, the shipment contains 190 tons of food items, 7 tons of pharmaceutical products, and 3 tons of essential medical equipment. The aid is being transported via a convoy of 10 heavy-duty trucks.

This humanitarian gesture underscores the developing bilateral relations between Baku and Tehran, reflecting a commitment to regional cooperation and mutual assistance. Azerbaijan has a long-standing history of providing relief to neighboring countries during times of need, reinforcing its role as a key humanitarian actor in the South Caucasus and broader region. The coordination of such logistics through the Cabinet of Ministers and relevant state agencies ensures the timely delivery of essential resources to support regional stability and social welfare.
