Regulations for Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions approved

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving the new regulations governing the activities of the Republic of Azerbaijan's embassies, permanent missions, consulates, and honorary consuls.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that under the decree, the "Regulations on the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan" will also apply to the Representative Offices of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while the "Regulations on the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan" will extend to the country's various representative delegations. The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to resolve all administrative and logistical issues arising from this decree.

This legislative update aims to modernize the legal framework for Azerbaijan's foreign service and diplomatic presence abroad. By streamlining the operational guidelines for diplomatic missions, Azerbaijan seeks to enhance its international representation and ensure more effective protection of the rights and interests of its citizens and legal entities in foreign jurisdictions. The move reflects the country's expanding diplomatic footprint and its commitment to international legal standards in diplomatic and consular relations.
