On August 23, a ceremony was held in Tashkent to honor the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan with high state awards.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented the high-ranking "Dostluq" (Friendship) Order to the head of the Azerbaijani state. In turn, President Ilham Aliyev presented the "Heydar Aliyev" Order to the President of Uzbekistan.
This exchange of high-level state honors underscores the deepening strategic partnership and historical ties between Baku and Tashkent. Relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have been characterized by robust cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres, with both nations frequently coordinating on regional security and development initiatives within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
