Azerbaijan approves new composition of commission with Algeria

The composition of the Azerbaijani side of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria has been officially approved.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to formalize the new membership of the commission.

Under the presidential decree, the Azerbaijani delegation for the Joint Commission is structured as follows:

  • Co-chair of the Commission: Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan
  • Members of the Commission:
  • Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
  • Deputy Minister of Economy
  • Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport
  • Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources
  • Deputy Minister of Agriculture
  • Deputy Minister of Science and Education
  • Deputy Minister of Culture
  • Vice President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR)
  • Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority
  • Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria

The decree mandates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) must notify the Algerian side regarding the updated composition of the Azerbaijani delegation. Joint intergovernmental commissions serve as a primary mechanism for bilateral diplomacy, facilitating high-level dialogue and the implementation of strategic economic projects between Azerbaijan and its international partners.
