Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia launch 'Caucasian Eagle - 2026' drills

The opening ceremony for the "Caucasian Eagle - 2026" joint tactical-special exercises, involving special forces from Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia, has been held at the Muxrovani military base near Tbilisi.

According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Defense, the event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, representatives of the military attaché office, and high-ranking guests from the participating nations.

In accordance with the program, the memory of military personnel who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia was honored with a minute of silence. The national anthems of all three countries were played, and their national flags were raised.

Speakers at the opening ceremony welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the critical role such exercises play in planning joint operations and facilitating the exchange of mutual experience. They wished the participants success in their training objectives.

It was noted that these exercises, which aim to further strengthen cooperation in security and defense among the three partner nations, are of particular significance for enhancing the combat readiness and operational capabilities of the participating units.

The "Caucasian Eagle" series of exercises is a cornerstone of the trilateral military cooperation between Baku, Ankara, and Tbilisi. These drills are designed to foster interoperability among special forces, ensuring a coordinated response to potential regional threats and enhancing stability in the South Caucasus region.
