The joint tactical-flight exercises "TurAz Qartali-2026," featuring the Air Forces of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, concluded in Azerbaijan on May 2. The drills served to further strengthen military cooperation and interoperability between the two brotherly nations.

According to the Ministry of Defense's statement to Operative Information Center-OMM, a final briefing was held to mark the successful completion of the maneuvers. During the exercises, military pilots from both countries conducted joint flights and demonstrated high professionalism in executing assigned combat missions.

Following the established scenario, the personnel successfully performed tasks including flight planning, detecting the locations of air defense systems and other strategic targets, and transmitting real-time data to the Integrated Air Operations Center for neutralization. The drills also focused on enhancing crew skills under diverse conditions, conducting exchange flights to familiarize personnel with new equipment and weapon systems, and evaluating air defense performance in environments involving electronic warfare.

The leadership of the exercises highly praised the performance of the military pilots and wished the participants success in their future service. The event concluded with a mutual presentation of commemorative gifts.

The TurAz Qartali (TurAz Eagle) exercises are a cornerstone of the annual military cooperation plan between Baku and Ankara. These drills are designed to improve the coordination of joint operations and share expertise between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Air Forces. Such military cooperation is rooted in the Shusha Declaration, which elevated the relationship between the two countries to an official alliance, ensuring regional stability and enhancing the defense capabilities of both nations.
