President Ilham Aliyev has expressed his gratitude to the people of Uzbekistan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally for their support in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state made these remarks during an interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).
"The secondary school named after Mirzo Ulugbek, built on the initiative of Uzbekistan and currently operating in the city of Fuzuli, is one of the brightest examples of cooperation in the field of education. It is yet another manifestation of the brotherly relations between our countries. We express our sincere gratitude to the entire people of Uzbekistan and personally to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for this noble initiative, as well as for the support provided for the restoration and construction work in our liberated territories," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
The reconstruction of the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions remains a top priority for the Azerbaijani government following the 2020 Patriotic War. Uzbekistan has been among the first nations to actively participate in these efforts, demonstrating the strong strategic partnership and historical ties between Baku and Tashkent. The Mirzo Ulugbek school in Fuzuli, inaugurated in 2023, serves as a tangible symbol of this solidarity, reflecting the commitment of both nations to the revitalization of the region.
