An Azerbaijani economic delegation is scheduled to visit Jordan in the near future to further strengthen bilateral ties. This announcement was made by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a briefing in Baku with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the current level of economic cooperation does not fully reflect the existing potential between the two nations. "When we look at current economic cooperation, it is fair to say that there is great potential. In this sense, the current situation does not satisfy us. We believe that we should look at possible investment projects in both countries, as we have the capabilities for this," the minister stated.
The discussions also focused on deepening humanitarian cooperation and strengthening friendly relations. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that both nations are actively involved in humanitarian efforts across various regions, which serves as a key area for joint collaboration. Furthermore, the ministers evaluated prospects for tourism development, specifically addressing the need to increase the frequency of direct flights that were launched at the end of May.
Azerbaijan and Jordan have maintained diplomatic relations since the early 1990s, characterized by mutual support in international forums and a shared commitment to regional stability. The upcoming visit is expected to serve as a platform for signing new agreements aimed at diversifying trade and enhancing investment partnerships between Baku and Amman.
