Amid the escalating tensions in the current international security environment, ongoing armed conflicts in various regions, including Ukraine and the Middle East, continue to pose a significant threat to global peace and stability.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued an official advisory regarding these developments.
The Ministry reported that instances of Azerbaijani citizens being killed or sustaining injuries of varying severity as a result of armed clashes and military operations in these regions have been recorded.
"Such incidents once again demonstrate that security risks in conflict zones and their surrounding areas are extremely high, posing serious threats to the life and health of our citizens who travel to or operate in those regions. In this context, we once again urge our citizens to carefully assess the security situation before traveling to foreign countries, to take into account the warnings and recommendations of official state bodies, and to avoid traveling to areas where conflicts and military operations are taking place," the statement reads.
The Ministry further emphasized that the participation of citizens in armed conflicts or military operations on the territory of foreign states, whether on a mercenary or voluntary basis, entails criminal liability under the legislation of Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions and consulates continue their efforts to protect the rights and interests of our citizens abroad. At the same time, it is of particular importance that every citizen approaches their own safety with responsibility and refrains from high-risk activities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor developments related to the international situation closely," the statement concluded.

These warnings are part of the state's broader consular protection strategy, which aims to provide guidance and support to Azerbaijani nationals in volatile regions, while simultaneously upholding national laws that prohibit unauthorized participation in foreign military activities.
