Transport corridors, infrastructure, and urban development are closely interconnected, influencing settlement processes, industrial growth, labor mobility, and climate resilience simultaneously. Modern transport networks play a decisive role in shaping investment targets and housing demand in the region.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made these remarks during an event titled "Cities at the Center of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation," held as part of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that sustainable and properly planned cities are essential for ensuring long-term economic and social benefits. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is currently implementing large-scale reconstruction and restoration projects in its liberated territories. According to the minister, cities, towns, and villages are being rebuilt based on the principles of sustainability, "smart" management, green energy, climate resilience, and human-centric urban planning.

The restoration of the Garabagh and East Zangilan economic regions remains a top national priority for Azerbaijan following the 44-day Patriotic War. The government has adopted a "Great Return" program, which focuses on demining activities followed by the construction of modern infrastructure. These efforts include the development of international airports, highways, and the implementation of "Smart Village" concepts to ensure a high standard of living for returning internally displaced persons while maintaining ecological balance.
