Ermənistan KTMT-dən çıxır? - Mirzoyan ödənişin niyə edilmədiyini dedi

Armenia has officially withheld its membership fee payment to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) for the year 2025.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan disclosed this decision during a parliamentary session.

Minister Mirzoyan stated that the primary reason for the non-payment is Armenia's de facto suspension of participation in the organization. "We did not pay the membership fee simply because we are not participating in the organization," Mirzoyan explained.

It should be noted that Armenia has effectively frozen its activities within the CSTO since January 1, 2024, reducing its engagement with the bloc to a minimum. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has previously declared that Yerevan has no plans to expand its involvement in the organization.

The CSTO, a Russia-led military alliance, has faced significant criticism from Yerevan regarding its perceived failure to fulfill security obligations during border escalations in 2022. While Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested that Armenia's grievances should be addressed through dialogue to avoid domestic political polarization, the Armenian government maintains that the organization's lack of response to its security concerns justifies its current stance of disengagement.
