Anar Quliyev: Azad edilmiş ərazilərdə iddialı bərpa işləri gedir

Azerbaijan is implementing one of the world's most ambitious restoration and reconstruction programs in its liberated territories, according to Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Guliyev made these remarks during a press conference held in connection with the official closing of the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13). The committee chairman stated that to ensure the safe and dignified return of former internally displaced persons to their ancestral lands, master plans for approximately 110 cities, towns, and villages have already been approved, while planning for other settlements is currently underway.

The restoration efforts in the Garabagh and East Zangazur economic regions represent a cornerstone of Azerbaijan's national development strategy following the restoration of its territorial integrity. The government's "Great Return" program focuses on the implementation of "smart city" and "smart village" concepts, sustainable infrastructure, and the large-scale clearance of landmines. These projects are designed to revitalize the regional economy and reintegrate the liberated territories into the national infrastructure, with a significant emphasis on green energy zones and modern urban standards to support long-term resettlement.
