Humanitarian cooperation remains one of the key areas of interaction among the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Ali Asadov made the remarks during his speech at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government held in Ashgabat.

According to the Prime Minister, humanitarian projects and initiatives hold significant potential for strengthening mutual understanding and traditional friendship among nations. Prime Minister Ali Asadov noted that the decision to declare Minsk as the CIS Youth Capital in 2027 and Karaganda in 2028 carries special symbolic and practical significance. "I am confident that the implementation of these initiatives will encourage more active participation of young people in public, political, and socio-economic life, as well as further strengthen humanitarian ties within the Commonwealth," he emphasized.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), one of the largest international platforms for sustainable development, urbanization, and improving the quality of life, concludes today in Baku. He noted that the UN-backed forum brought together a record number of participants, with over 40,000 representatives from 182 countries. Prime Minister Ali Asadov expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the CIS member states for their active participation in the forum.

The CIS Council of Heads of Government coordinates cooperation among member states in economic, social, and humanitarian spheres. Azerbaijan, as an active member of the CIS, consistently promotes regional initiatives aimed at fostering cultural exchange, economic integration, and sustainable urban development across the region.
