On January 20, train services operated by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) will be carried out according to the schedule intended for non-working days.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing ADY, that further temporary adjustments will be implemented on the Absheron Circular Railway line starting from January 21. These changes are necessitated by the scheduled maintenance of one of the trains in the current fleet.
According to the updated schedule, express trains departing from Sumgait at 07:30 and 08:00 will now include a stop at the Bakikhanov station. Additionally, the Pirshaghi–Sumgait express train departing from Baku at 18:05 will stop at the Sabunchu station to facilitate passenger boarding and alighting. It was noted that no changes are planned for the existing train schedules on Saturdays and Sundays.
January 20 is observed in Azerbaijan as National Mourning Day, commemorating the victims of the 1990 Black January tragedy. During such public holidays and days of national significance, transport authorities often adjust schedules to accommodate changing passenger flows and commemorative events. The Absheron Circular Railway, connecting Baku with Sumgait and various suburban settlements, serves as a vital transport artery for the capital's metropolitan area, handling thousands of commuters daily.
