Drinking water supply is being restored in the Absheron district following technical malfunctions at a major pump station caused by intensive rainfall that exceeded monthly norms by more than six times. The Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, in coordination with other relevant government bodies, is currently conducting urgent restoration works to bring the facility back to full capacity.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Agency that several pumps have already been repaired and put back into operation as a result of the swift measures taken. "Currently, the provision of drinking water to all areas of the district is being ensured. Once the pump station's operations are fully restored, the water supply will be carried out according to the previous schedule," the official statement from the Agency noted.
The recent extreme weather conditions in Azerbaijan have necessitated a reinforced work regime for utility services across the Absheron Peninsula. While the malfunction caused temporary difficulties in discharging rainwater in certain areas, the Agency's subordinate teams continue to work around the clock to mitigate the impact of the record-breaking precipitation and ensure the stability of the region's water infrastructure.
