The operations of the regular bus route No. 525, which connects the Masazir village of Baku's Absheron district—specifically the "Zangilan Town" residential complex—with the "Memar Ajami" metro station, are being upgraded.
This was reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
According to the official statement, the initiative aims to reduce travel time for residents of the "Zangilan Town" complex and resolve transportation challenges for residents of the "Yeni Baki" and "Gurtulush-93" residential complexes. Effective July 18, the route will be reorganized into two separate lines: 525A and 525B.
A total of 28 modern "King Long" buses, equipped with CNG technology, will serve these routes. Payment on these buses will be exclusively cashless, with the fare set at 0.60 AZN.
Route 525A will operate between the "Yeni Baki" residential complex in Masazir and the "Memar Ajami" metro station, with a frequency of 6-7 minutes. Route 525B will connect the "Zangilan Town" residential complex to the same metro station, operating at 10-minute intervals.
Additionally, to facilitate local travel within Masazir, a new route, No. 524, will be launched to connect the "Yeni Baki" and "Zangilan Town" complexes, with a fare of 0.50 AZN.
These upgrades are part of a broader effort by the Republic of Azerbaijan to modernize public transportation infrastructure in the capital and its surrounding districts, ensuring more efficient and comfortable transit options for citizens.
