Two South Korean activists detained by Israeli forces aboard a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for Gaza have been released and deported, according to South Korean Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jun.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Yonhap news agency, that the individuals were deported immediately without facing formal arrest or charges. Kang expressed the South Korean government's concern regarding the seizure of vessels carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza but noted that the administration welcomes Israel's decision to release the citizens promptly.

The incident occurs amid ongoing international tensions regarding humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip. Similar maritime missions, often organized by international coalitions, seek to deliver medical supplies and food to the region, frequently leading to interceptions by Israeli naval forces citing security protocols. South Korea continues to monitor the safety of its nationals involved in international aid missions while maintaining its diplomatic stance on regional stability and humanitarian principles.
