Zaxarova NATO-nun nüvə təhlükəsindən danışdı

NATO's activities are directed against Russia, and the alliance's ambitions continue to expand.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made these remarks during an interview with Sputnik Radio.

According to Zakharova, Russia has observed a significant expansion of NATO's intentions in recent years. She stated that these activities are taking on a character of "encirclement," originating not only from the western direction but also from the southern regions and the Far East. The spokesperson emphasized that the alliance is systematically increasing its presence near Russian borders.

Zakharova further noted that NATO continues to strengthen and expand its nuclear potential. The diplomat suggested that the use of this potential against Russia in a conflict scenario cannot be ruled out. She added that this process involves the expansion of the European nuclear component within the alliance, alongside joint nuclear missions conducted with US nuclear weapons.

This statement comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions between Moscow and the West. Historically, the relationship between Russia and NATO has been defined by mutual suspicion regarding military expansion and strategic defense capabilities. Since the mid-20th century, both sides have maintained significant nuclear deterrents, and the current rhetoric reflects a deepening divide over European security architecture and global strategic stability.
