WUF13-də humanitar mina fəaliyyəti və onun rolu müzakirə edilib

An event titled "Reconstruction in post-conflict cities: The critical role of humanitarian mine action" is being held at the Azerbaijan Pavilion as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the session focuses on the safe and sustainable reconstruction of cities following conflicts. Participants are discussing the integration of humanitarian mine action into urban planning, the development of critical infrastructure, and the strategic pathways for the safe return of displaced communities to their homes in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan continues to face a significant landmine challenge in its liberated territories, which remains a primary obstacle to the ongoing large-scale restoration projects and the "Great Return" program. The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, serves as the premier global platform for discussing sustainable urbanization. By hosting these discussions, Azerbaijan aims to share its unique experience in rebuilding "smart cities" and "smart villages" while highlighting the essential role of demining in ensuring long-term regional safety and economic development.
