Representatives from the United States, Iran, and Pakistan are currently conducting direct negotiations in Islamabad to discuss regional security and diplomatic relations.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was released by the press service of US Vice President JD Vance. According to the official statement, the United States, Pakistan, and Iran are holding a trilateral face-to-face meeting today. A full team of American experts on these matters is present in Islamabad, while additional support is being provided by experts based in Washington.

Earlier, Reuters, citing a Pakistan source, noted that the initial round of talks lasted for two hours before the delegations took a break. The agency reported that US Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and businessman Jared Kushner are engaged in direct talks with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir. The American negotiating team also includes Andrew Baker, Deputy Assistant to the US President for National Security and National Security Advisor to Vance, as well as Michael Vance, the Vice President's advisor on Asian affairs.

These high-level discussions mark a significant shift in diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran under the administration of US President Donald Trump. Historically, direct talks between the two nations have been rare, often requiring intermediaries. The inclusion of Pakistan as a host and participant underscores Islamabad's strategic role as a regional mediator. This meeting is expected to address long-standing tensions in the Middle East and explore potential frameworks for future cooperation or de-escalation.
