Ukrainian President Zelensky arrives in Ankara for NATO summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Ankara to participate in the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from TRT Haber, the Ukrainian leader's aircraft landed at Esenboğa Airport in Ankara.

President Zelensky was welcomed at the airport by Türkiye's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, along with other high-ranking officials. The visit underscores the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address regional security challenges and strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and the NATO alliance.

It is noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the NATO summit. These discussions are expected to focus on critical geopolitical issues, regional stability, and the strengthening of international partnerships.

The summit will feature participation from key international figures, including US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European Council President António Costa.

The NATO Summit serves as a pivotal platform for member states and partners to align their strategic objectives. As the alliance continues to navigate complex security environments, such high-level gatherings are essential for coordinating collective responses to global threats and fostering dialogue among allied nations.
