The Internal Troops are capable of successfully and worthily fulfilling any service-combat mission assigned to them.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was made by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, during his speech at the graduation ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year at the Military Institute of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The Minister emphasized that the enhancement of combat readiness, the provision of modern weaponry and equipment, and the strengthening of social protection for personnel within the Internal Troops—a key structural unit of the MIA—are consistently prioritized by the President of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev.
Vilayat Eyvazov specifically highlighted the significant role of the Turkish Armed Forces, including the Gendarmerie General Command, in shaping the professional cadre core of the Internal Troops and in the high results achieved by personnel in combat training. The Minister also presented diplomas to graduates who completed their studies at the Military Institute with distinction and were awarded the rank of "first lieutenant."
The Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan are a specialized military formation tasked with ensuring public order, protecting state facilities, and participating in the defense of the country. Cooperation with the Turkish Gendarmerie has been a cornerstone of the modernization and professionalization of these forces, reflecting the strategic alliance and close military-educational ties between Baku and Ankara.
