A passenger bus overturned in Turkey's Balikesir province, resulting in the deaths of three people and leaving 31 others injured.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing local media reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and flip over. Emergency medical teams, rescuers, and police officers were immediately dispatched to the site. The injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, where one individual is reported to be in critical condition.
Traffic accidents involving intercity buses are a recurring concern in Turkey, often attributed to factors such as driver fatigue, adverse weather conditions, or technical failures. Turkish authorities have recently intensified road safety measures and inspections to reduce the frequency of such incidents on major highways. Local law enforcement has launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact cause of the Balikesir crash.
