Vugar Ahmadov has stepped down from his position as Director General of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), according to information confirmed by the regulatory body.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing official sources from the CBA, Ahmadov's name has been removed from the list of senior management officials on the institution's official website.
Vugar Ahmadov had served in this capacity since December 2017. Following his departure, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan continues its operations with nine remaining directors general. The CBA, as the primary financial regulator in Azerbaijan, plays a critical role in maintaining macroeconomic stability, managing the national currency, and overseeing the country's banking sector. Such personnel adjustments within the institution are closely monitored by financial analysts and market participants as part of the broader administrative oversight of the nation's economic governance.
