The Iranian parliament has officially denied reports claiming that Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has resigned from his position as head of the negotiation group.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Iman Shamsaei, the head of the parliament's communication and media department, issued a formal statement addressing the rumors.

Shamsaei stated that the reports are "completely false" and confirmed that Qalibaf continues to lead the negotiation group. He emphasized that the Speaker is actively performing his duties and that the allegations circulating in the media do not reflect the truth.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a prominent figure in Iranian politics and a former Mayor of Tehran, has served as the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly since 2020. As a key member of the country's political leadership, his role in high-level negotiations is considered vital for the legislative body's influence on both domestic and foreign policy. Such denials from the parliamentary media office are often issued to maintain political stability and counter misinformation regarding the state's top officials.
