Individuals responsible for causing fires across four districts in Azerbaijan have been held accountable, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that police officers identified the perpetrators behind fire incidents that occurred in Mashlig village of Jalilabad district, Duzgishlag village of Goranboy district, Yagublu village of Oguz district, and Gazli village of Ismayilli district.
Investigations revealed that the fires were intentionally set by local residents identified as F. Zeynalov, A. Aliyev, A. Agayev, and M. Shukurov. The incidents resulted in approximately 9 hectares of harvested agricultural land and shrubbery being destroyed. Appropriate legal measures have been taken against the suspects in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Intentional arson in agricultural areas poses a significant threat to the country's food security and ecological balance. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations frequently conduct awareness campaigns and strict monitoring to prevent such incidents, particularly during the dry summer months when the risk of wildfires is elevated across the region.
