A mobile phone theft totaling 12,000 manats has been reported in Baku.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that police received a report on March 29 regarding a burglary at a mobile phone store located in the Khatai district of the capital.
As a result of measures carried out by officers of the Khatai District Police Department, 20-year-old Arrahman Nadirov, suspected of committing the crime, was identified and detained. Investigations revealed that the suspect entered the premises by breaking the store's glass window and fled the scene after seizing mobile devices with a total value of 12,000 manats.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to prioritize the protection of private property and the prevention of retail theft across the capital. Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing at the Khatai District Police Department to determine all circumstances of the case and recover the stolen property.
In recent years, law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan have increased surveillance and patrol measures in commercial areas to ensure public safety and business security. The Khatai district, being one of the most populous administrative divisions of Baku, remains under consistent monitoring by the local police departments to maintain law and order.
