Bakıda dərslər distant olacaq: WUF13 ilə bağlı rəsmi əmr

Educational institutions in Baku will switch to distance learning or observe holidays from May 18 to 22, coinciding with the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13). The decision aims to ensure the smooth organization of the international event being hosted in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev has signed an official order regarding the changes. Under the directive, preschool preparation groups and primary school students (grades 1-4) will have holidays during this period, replacing the previously scheduled break from May 1 to 5. For students in grades 5-11, classes will be conducted remotely, except for schools located in the Pirallahi, Garadagh, Surakhani, Sabunchu, and Nizami districts. Furthermore, vocational, secondary specialized, and higher education institutions across Baku will also transition to distance learning for the duration of the forum.

The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization, established by the United Nations in 2001 to examine the most pressing issues facing the world today: rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change, and policies. Hosting WUF13 underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a hub for major international diplomatic and environmental summits. The event brings together thousands of participants, including government officials, urban planners, and civil society representatives, to discuss the implementation of the New Urban Agenda.
