Official welcome ceremony held for Ethiopian Prime Minister

An official welcome ceremony was held on February 27 for the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that a guard of honor was lined up in the square decorated with the national flags of both countries to honor the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva welcomed Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and his spouse, Zinash Tayachew. The chief of the guard of honor presented a report to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, followed by the performance of the national anthems of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The guard of honor marched past President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali to the accompaniment of a military march, after which an official photo was taken.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia have seen steady development in recent years, particularly within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and the African Union. This high-level visit serves to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including economy, trade, and humanitarian efforts. Azerbaijan continues to expand its foreign policy reach in Africa, positioning Baku as a central hub for international diplomatic dialogue and South-South cooperation.
