Traffic congestion has been reported in three major directions across Baku, according to the latest update from the Intellectual Transport Management Center (ITMC).
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the ITMC has identified significant delays affecting commuters during peak hours. Current traffic conditions are as follows:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the 20 January metro station;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the 20 January metro station;
- 1st Lake Side Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue.
The Intellectual Transport Management Center, which operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, continuously monitors the capital's road network using advanced surveillance and traffic signal control systems. These systems are designed to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion in Baku, which has seen a significant increase in vehicle numbers over the past decade due to rapid urban development and population growth. Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and utilize alternative roads where possible to avoid delays.
