A series of events have been held in the types of troops, units, formations, and special educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Army on the occasion of Eid al-Adha (Gurban Bayram) and May 28 - Independence Day.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed about this by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the ministry, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence, followed by the performance of the National Anthem.

During the events, the congratulations of President Ilham Aliyev and Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and Independence Day were delivered to the military personnel. Speakers highlighted the historical significance of the Declaration of Independence adopted on May 28, 1918, which proclaimed the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as the first parliamentary republic in the Muslim East.

The events emphasized Azerbaijan's status as a humanist and tolerant state that highly values Islamic, universal, and national-moral values. Following the official parts, socio-political training sessions, roundtables, and conferences were organized, alongside the screening of documentaries. Sacrificial ceremonies and festive tables were also arranged for the servicemen.

Under the instructions of Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, representatives visited the graves of martyrs in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan. Families of martyrs and veterans wounded during military operations were visited, presented with holiday gifts, and conveyed the congratulations of the Ministry of Defense leadership. Creative teams from the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov and the Ganja Garrison Ideological and Cultural Center performed patriotic musical programs for the personnel.
