At least eight people have been killed and 26 others injured after a passenger bus overturned in Turkey's Antalya province.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing TRT Haber, reports that the passenger bus, which was traveling from the city of Tekirdağ to Antalya, veered off the road and overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Emergency response teams, including medical personnel, firefighters, and police brigades, were immediately dispatched to the site of the accident. Authorities are currently working to identify the deceased and continue the evacuation of the injured to local hospitals. An official investigation has been launched to determine the precise circumstances and cause of the crash.

Antalya, a major tourism and transit hub on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, frequently handles high volumes of intercity bus traffic. Road safety remains a priority for Turkish authorities, who have implemented various measures to monitor long-distance transport routes. This incident follows a series of efforts by the Turkish Ministry of Transport to enhance safety protocols on major highways connecting the northern and southern regions of the country.
