Tehranın ABŞ üçün Hörmüz şərti

The Strait of Hormuz remains open to US ships, but transit is only possible with Iran's specific consent and on the condition of an absence of hostile actions.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, made these remarks in an interview with the British ITV television channel. The diplomat emphasized that while the strait is open, every tanker and vessel must coordinate necessary measures with Iranian authorities in advance to ensure safe passage.

Responding to a question regarding the right of free passage for US ships, Saeed Khatibzadeh noted: "There is no difference, except for any hostile behavior. We believe that there are currently no such signs, so everyone can pass in the usual manner."

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most strategically important chokepoints, serving as the main artery for global oil supplies. Approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption passes through this narrow waterway daily, connecting Middle Eastern crude producers to key markets in Asia, Europe, and North America. Given its geopolitical significance, any tension in the region often impacts global energy prices and maritime security protocols.
