Dövlət Turizm Agentliyi yeni strategiyaya keçid edir

Success in the modern tourism industry is no longer measured solely by the number of visitors arriving in a country.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was made by Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, during an international conference in Baku titled "Green Tourism in the Member States of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA)."

Naghiyev emphasized that the criteria for evaluating success in the tourism sector are evolving. "Azerbaijan's primary goal is not just to showcase its rich natural and cultural heritage, but to preserve, develop, and pass it on to future generations," he stated.

The Chairman noted that the State Tourism Agency is taking significant steps toward developing sustainable tourism. "Priorities include the development of nature-based tourism routes, as well as the expansion of ecotourism and agrotourism. Amid global climate change, the future of the tourism sector depends on protecting a healthy environment, utilizing natural resources efficiently, and implementing sustainable development principles," he added.

The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan plays a pivotal role in shaping the national tourism policy, focusing on promoting the country's diverse landscape—from the Caspian coast to the mountainous regions of Garabagh—as a premier destination for sustainable and eco-conscious travelers.
