Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku, affecting the morning commute across the capital.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC), significant delays are currently being observed at the following locations:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, heading towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street toward the "20 January" metro station;
- 1st Golkanari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, both on the main and auxiliary roads heading toward the city center;
- Yusif Safarov Street, in the direction of the center;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
- Dilara Aliyeva Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the intersection with Izmir Street toward the "20 January" metro station, as well as from the station heading toward the center.
The Intelligent Transport Management Center monitors the traffic flow in Azerbaijan's capital to ensure the efficiency of the transport network. Such congestion is typical during peak hours in Baku, as the city continues to expand its infrastructure to accommodate increasing vehicle volume. Authorities advise drivers to use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays and ensure smoother transit through the capital's main arteries.
