Drivers participating in wedding convoys are creating artificial traffic congestion and hazardous road conditions by violating traffic regulations on the streets and avenues of Baku.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center of the Operative Information Center-OMM of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that several vehicles in a wedding procession recently obstructed traffic on Heydar Aliyev Avenue in the Nizami district of the capital. The incident led to significant congestion, which was only resolved following the intervention of traffic police officers.

"Vehicles in a wedding convoy must move sequentially in the right lane and avoid creating artificial density or dangerous situations. Traffic rules apply equally to everyone. Do not turn your happy day into a day of sorrow," the statement emphasized. Under Azerbaijani law, such violations can lead to administrative penalties, including fines for obstructing the free movement of other road users.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) was established to monitor and manage traffic flow in Baku using advanced technological solutions. By utilizing a network of cameras and sensors, the center identifies bottlenecks and safety violations in real-time to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles and public transport across the capital's infrastructure.
