A group of 175 Russian workers evacuated from Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has departed from Yerevan to Moscow via a special charter flight.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Russian Embassy in Armenia released the information regarding the transit operation. According to the diplomatic mission, the workers entered Armenia from Iran through the Nurduz-Agarak border crossing point on April 6 before being transported to the Armenian capital for their final flight to Russia.

The embassy expressed its gratitude to the Armenian authorities for the swift registration and logistical support provided to the employees of the Rosatom State Corporation during their transit. This movement follows established protocols for the rotation and safety of personnel working on international energy projects in the region.

The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, located on Iran's Persian Gulf coast, is a major industrial project completed with significant technical assistance from Russia's state nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom. As the first civilian nuclear power plant in the Middle East, it remains a focal point of bilateral cooperation between Moscow and Tehran. The transit of personnel through neighboring Armenia is a common logistical route due to the established transport corridors and diplomatic coordination between the involved regional partners.
