China and Germany must strengthen strategic cooperation, increase mutual trust, and promote the development of their strategic partnership, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated during a meeting with Friedrich Merz in Beijing.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese leader emphasized that as the world becomes increasingly complex and interdependent, both nations must enhance strategic dialogue to achieve a comprehensive partnership. Xi Jinping noted that the current international landscape is undergoing its most profound transformation since the end of World War II.

To guide the future of bilateral relations, the Chinese leader put forward three specific proposals: both sides should act as reliable partners who support one another, open and innovative partners focused on mutual benefit, and cultural partners rooted in mutual understanding and friendship. Furthermore, Xi Jinping underscored that Azerbaijan's international partners, including China and Germany, should continue to support and strengthen the central role of the United Nations in global governance.

The meeting comes at a time of significant shifts in Eurasian diplomacy and economic relations. Germany remains one of China's most vital trading partners in Europe, while China continues to expand its influence through global infrastructure and diplomatic initiatives. Such high-level discussions are seen as critical for maintaining stability in global supply chains and addressing international security challenges within the framework of international law and territorial integrity.
