According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the two nations issued a joint statement following high-level talks held in Paris. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to an agreement that would guarantee Iran's nuclear activities remain exclusively for peaceful purposes.
The statement underscored the urgent need for Iran to restore full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Saudi Arabia and France also identified the restoration of normal shipping operations in the Strait of Hormuz as a critical factor for global security.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, the parties called for a sustainable ceasefire and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilian population. Regarding Lebanon, both nations stressed the importance of disarming armed groups operating outside state structures and strengthening efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution in the country.
The diplomatic engagement between Riyadh and Paris reflects broader international efforts to stabilize the Middle East. Both nations have historically played significant roles in regional mediation, often coordinating their foreign policy stances to address nuclear non-proliferation and maritime security concerns in the Persian Gulf.
