Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed nine Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night of March 10-11, preventing potential strikes on strategic infrastructure.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Major General Turki al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the kingdom's Ministry of Defense, issued a formal statement regarding the incident. According to the General, six UAVs were shot down over the eastern part of Saudi Arabia, while the remaining three were neutralized as they approached the Shaybah oil field.

The Shaybah oil field, located in the Rub' al Khali desert near the border with the United Arab Emirates, is one of Saudi Arabia's most significant energy assets, producing approximately one million barrels of crude oil per day. This incident underscores the ongoing regional tensions and the persistent security threats posed to global energy supply chains. Saudi authorities have frequently emphasized the need for international cooperation to deter such provocations and maintain regional stability.
