Sabah FC, which has secured a spot in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League, has been allocated 5 million manats from the President's Reserve Fund. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to this effect.
The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with ensuring the financing of the specified amount, while the Cabinet of Ministers is responsible for addressing issues arising from the decree.
It should be noted that on August 25, Sabah FC qualified for the main stage of the UEFA Champions League after defeating Israel's Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the play-off round, with a 5-2 victory in the second leg following a 1-2 loss in the first, securing their progression on aggregate. This financial support underscores the state's ongoing commitment to the development of professional sports in Azerbaijan and the promotion of local clubs on the international stage.
