Russia and China have reached an agreement to significantly deepen their media partnership and strategic cooperation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the commitment was formalized in a joint statement issued following high-level negotiations between Russian and Chinese leaders held in Beijing.

The document specifies that both nations will strengthen collaboration in the media sector, co-host the Russia–China Media Forum, and facilitate reciprocal visits between major media organizations. Furthermore, the agreement emphasizes expanding cooperation in personnel training and establishing mutually beneficial working conditions for media professionals operating in both countries.

Under the terms of the statement, the parties plan to exchange expertise in digital diplomacy and emerging media technologies, while also deepening ties between regional media outlets. The document highlights support for joint content production, professional development in internet and new media fields, and the organization of online media forums. Notably, the agreement also encourages exchange programs between bloggers from both nations to foster greater cultural and informational integration.

This move comes as both Moscow and Beijing seek to align their information policies and counter what they describe as Western media dominance. By integrating digital diplomacy efforts and streamlining content sharing, the two nations aim to project a unified narrative on global affairs. Historically, the Russia–China Media Forum has served as a key platform for these initiatives, reflecting the broader strategic partnership that has intensified over the past decade across economic, political, and technological spheres.
