As part of ongoing military exercises, the Russian armed forces have delivered nuclear weapons to field storage facilities in Belarus.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Russian Ministry of Defense released information regarding the deployment. According to the official statement, nuclear munitions were positioned at field storage sites within the deployment area of a missile brigade located in the Republic of Belarus as part of scheduled nuclear drills.
The ministry further noted that personnel from the Belarusian missile unit are undergoing combat readiness training. This training includes the acquisition of specialized munitions for the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, the equipping of launchers with these munitions, and the covert movement to designated launch positions.
This deployment marks a significant escalation in regional military cooperation between Moscow and Minsk. The Iskander-M system is a mobile guided missile system with a range of up to 500 kilometers, capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads. Such joint exercises are frequently conducted within the framework of the Union State agreement, reflecting the deepening strategic and military integration between Russia and Belarus amid heightened geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe.
